Going to church does not make you a Christian.
How to Get There
- Point one: ask one of your kids to come up on stage and hand them an object (job specific name tag, wedding ring, etc.) then ask them to put it on. The idea here is to help them realize that just because you wear a ring, name tag, or lab coat doesn't exactly mean that you are married, a plumber or doctor. You could also shoot a video of one of the kids walking in and out of McDonald's 20 times and then see if they turn into a cheeseburger.
- Point two: Ask the kids where they would look to get information on becoming a Christian. Obvious answer, for some at least, is the Bible. Walk them through Romans 10:9,10, and 13.
Things to Watch For
As with all children's messages watch out for length. This can be an easy one to drag on and on so remember that most children's attention spans are stretched at 10 min.
