A Brief Description of the Curriculum

A Bible study centered around encounters people had at city gates in the Bible.

Series Information/Overview

In Bible times when many of the cities were fortified as protection against their enemies, strong gates were necessary. Far more than mere access to the city, the gate became a place of congregation for legal transactions, for public discussions and even for marketing. The private residences of the wealthy also were enclosed with courtyards and gates. The lessons of this series will cover a few of the significant “gate” transactions in the Bible. Come, meet us at the gate and learn!
